Per LÜTKEN (1916-1998)
Per Lutken studied painting and technical drawing in Copenhagen. He left his mark on Danish glass design for more than 50 years. He worked from 1942 until his death in 1998 as the artistic director of the firm Holmegaard. More than 3000 glass designs are to his credit. The Provence bowl (1955) is perhaps his best-known design and shows how Per L_tken introduced innovative shapes in the traditional glass industry. Believing that design should brighten up our daily lives, Per Lutken promoted the traditional simplicity of good Danish design for five decades.
