Op de voorgrond: spelende kinderen op een eiland in de Zaan. De tekenaar bevindt zich op het eiland in de Voorzaan.
Uitgegeven in 1858 te Gouda door Gerrit Benjamin van Goor. Gedrukt bij G.G. Lange in Darmstadt.
Fraai ingelijst in houten lijst met dubbele passe-partout.

Johann Gabriel Friedrich Poppel, geboren op 14 mei 1807 in het industriedorp Hammer bij Neurenberg, en overleden op 6 augustus 1882 in Ammerland). Hij was een Duitse koper- en staalgraveur, bouwkundig tekenaar, landschapsschilder en uitgever.
