  • Special British 18th century woodcut on paper with a biblical representation of the high priest Melchizedek giving Abraham his blessing. This woodcut, made in 1743 by British graphic artist John Baptist Jackson (1701-1780), was inspired (after) by a 16th century painting by Francesco II BASSANO (1549-1592). The woodcut is in good (some places in the paper with creases) condition. The Woodcut itself measures 56.7cm x 38.2cm (HxW). At the bottom various later connotations in pencil (name of the artist / title / and name (Jacob Hainen) of the biographer of John Baptist Jackson.
