Artist

Francis VANNERUM (Hasselt 1944)

Education: Hasselt Academy of Fine Arts and the Rijksnormaalschool, Plastic Education section. He then perfected himself in the studio of Johnny Friedlaender (1912-1992), Walter Vilain (1938-) and S. Seilern.

In 1974 he became a teacher at the Academy in Tongeren.

He regularly creates the sets for the theater plays of the Royal Hasselts Operetten Company. His work, including numerous sculptures and paintings, has been exhibited at various exhibitions at home and abroad. The statue The Comedian in the garden of Het Stadsmus Hasselt is by him.
