Biography Pieterse 's work is characterized in the first instance by an idiosyncratic use of color . Current topics are highlighted, sometimes with humor, but a comment is always placed on the apparently self-evident matters. With an expressionistic gesture, colors are firmly placed against each other, or sometimes unusual color combinations are used. Figuration interspersed with more abstract forms. The work has a certain complexity in design. Fragmentary and multi-layered, forms (sometimes suggestive forms) are placed on the canvas with a collage-like approach. This emphasizes 'the multiplicity' of the reality that surrounds us. As a former European prize winner for painting (1984 , bronze medal. Pieterse is also chairman of two foundations. Stg Doklens (rents studios to artists and designers) and Stg. Krokodil ( has organized three versions of the studio route in Den Bosch, 1996,-98 and 2000). with stg. Crocodile has embarked on a new path in the form of a production of 'the artistic documentary.' The last documentary, 'The New World', deals with globalization and was made in 2003. With shots from Moscow, Istanbul and Den Bosch, an attempt is made to demonstrate the similarities that lie in contemporary architecture, clothing and customs in the different countries. Since then, Pieterse has also joined K-26, an artist group from Oss. They manage an exhibition space in the center of Oss.
