Jef van de Fackere (1870-1946)
Jef van de FACKERE ( 1879-1946 ) was a student at the Academy of Bruges (with Pierre Raoux and Edmond Van Hove). In 1904 he became a teacher at the Bruges Academy. In 1918 he founded the day school for girls. He mainly painted portraits, figures and flower still lifes. He portrayed Stijn Streuvels and Hugo Verriest, among others, and was much in demand for children's portraits. He was a member of the Cercle Artistique Brugeois with whom he exhibited practically every year between 1904 and 1926.
