Cornelis Johannes 'Kor' PostmaHilversum 1903-1977 ParisKor Postma is best known as a surrealist, who exhibited in the 1930s together with Carel Willink and Pyke Koch in Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam and The Hague. In 1931 a special issue of the magazine 'Wendingen' was even devoted to this trio. Ren_ Magritte was a sometimes important example for him during that period. After some disappointing reviews, Postma moved to Paris. Partly thanks to influential friends such as Georges Pompidou and Jacques Pr_vert, he started a second painting career there in the 1950s.
