Leo Hortensius (1946)

Leo Hortensius (1946)

Leo Hortensius (1946) is a painter who lives and works in Italy and the Netherlands. In the seventies and eighties he was known as a hyperrealist and his work was shown at the Art Expo in New York, among others. In 1990 his career took a different turn when some major art collectors asked him to replicate some old master paintings because they had loaned their originals to various museums and still wanted to admire their purchase at home. This was the beginning of a twenty-year career as a master copier.
