Piet STOCKMANS (Leopoldsburg 1940)

Stockmans was a designer at the porcelain factory Royal Mosa BV in Maastricht from 1966 to 1989. Between 1969 and 1998 he taught industrial design at the product design department at the Municipal Higher Institute for Visual Communication and Design, which later became Media & Design Academy in Genk, and from 1983 to 1985 taught ceramic design at the Design Academy Eindhoven. He has been a freelance designer since 1989. From 2010 he is housed at the C-Mine site in Winterslag, Genk.

In the autumn of 2010 there was a retrospective of his work in the Design Museum in Ghent.
