Beautiful, characteristic work by (then) William Kuik. Washed ink on thick paper, signed and dated in ink top left ('70), located bottom left (Roundstone Ireland) and signed and dated again, signed and dated again on the reverse, with an even more precise addition “House of Moll Magee”. In very good condition; only very light discolouration within a previous passe-partout.

Roundstone (Cloch na Ron) is a village in Galway in Western Ireland and it has a greater cultural reputation in the region than its population size would suggest. Moll Magee is famous for a poem by the Irish poet William Butler Yeats; The Ballad of Moll Magee:
