We learned through Evert van Hemert that the work comes from his hands and consists of an edition of 3 pieces. Signed on the bottom of the pedestal.

Van Hemert is a self-taught artist. His training at the Rietveld Academy lasted only ten minutes, according to information on his website. His work is mainly figurative. He likes luscious shapes with an erotic look. Both women and animals, especially horses, are among his subjects. He makes his bronzes himself, from the first wax model up to and including casting and patination. His work is exhibited at home and abroad. For his paintings he mainly uses acrylic paint on linen.

The artist has worked in Haarlem, Greece and New Orleans and then settled in the Frisian town of Kolderwolde.

• Along the road that runs through the village, the Oordenwei, are ten of his creations, a sculpture route called: Famkes fan Kolderwolde . On Friday April 8, 2005, the Queen's Commissioner in the province of Friesland, Mr Ed Nijpels unveiled the last of the ten statues called "The last churchgoer" .
• In the eleven Frisian cities of the Elfstedentocht, eleven bronze statues of Aukje , a speed skater, have been placed on a column made of Corten steel on the route where road and water intersect. The last statue was placed in 2007 on the Bonkevaart in Leeuwarden.
