Friso ten HOLT (Argèles-Gazost 1921 - Callantsoog 1997)
Friso ten Holt was educated at the Rijksacademie in Amsterdam. He taught at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, and was professor at the Rijksacademie in Amsterdam. Friso ten Holt lived and worked in Bergen and Amsterdam.
Holt, made trips to France and Italy. He was fascinated by the balance in a composition, finding that balance was his constant quest. Cloudy skies, portraits, still lifes, landscapes with beaches, dunes and polders with clouds above them again and again. Ten Holt designed the windows of the Sint Bavo church in Haarlem.
