Ger LANGEWEG (Oudemolen 1891 - Amsterdam 1970)
After his education in Amsterdam, Langeweg went to Flanders and came into contact with James Ensor, with whom he felt very close. Ger Langeweg attended the academies of Ghent and Bruges and lived in Paris for some time. His subjects are often figures, still lifes, nudes, landscapes and fantasy figures in a magical realistic style. He was influenced by Giorgio de Chirico, Raoul Hynckes and Pyke Koch. But he kept his own style: 'You have to drink from your own glass', was his motto.
